Original Pattern: How To Make a Crochet Witch

In time for spooky season, below is a crochet witch pattern! I’ve also got a crochet cauldron to go along with her.

Difficulty
Advanced Beginner. You’ll need familiarity with the Half Double Crochet and Double Crochet stitches, working in Back Loop only, and color changes.

Hook:
Size 4mm (U.S.) hook

Glossary of Stitches
CH = chain

SL ST = slip stitch

SC = single crochet

INC = 2 SC in one stitch

DEC = You can do an invisible decrease or a 2sc2tog.

HDC = Half Double Crochet

DC = double crochet

MR = Magic Ring
Beginner Tip: When instructed to do a magic ring, you have two choices. You can either do the magic ring, or you can do the alternative chain 2 method. Links for both below:

Yarn:
Five different types of yarns were used.
These were worsted (Size 4):
Dress Color: Lion Brand Heartland Yarn Hot Springs
Accent Color: Ice Yarns Glam Universe Copper Gold Shades
Skin Color: Inspirations Patons Classic Wool Worsted
Hair Color: Caron Burgundy, Simply Soft Solids Yarn

This one was Sports Weight (Size 2):
Arm Color: Wool of the Andes Sport Weight White Yarn

Safety Eyes:
You can use yarn to embroider, or create an eye patch. I used eyes from this:

If you’re using safety eyes, insert them between rounds 5 and 6.

Optional: I put some glass gems at the bottom at this point in order to help weigh it down and help her stand up.

Finish stuffing the body.
Fasten off and sew to close.

The arms will be tucked into the sleeves.

Use a 2.5mm hook and sports weight yarn.

Skip two to three stitches, and SC to make it more even.

Hair

1. Magic Ring SC6 [6]

4. Do a “strand of hair” instructions below 6 times.

Strand of hair:
1. Chain 16. In the second chain from hook, slip stitch, SC 3, Inc X 10. SC into the starting stitch that you chained 16 from.

Hat
