The double crochet stitch is a bit taller than the standard stitch. For a lot of patterns, they’ll want you to chain 2 before you do it to “build height”, but not all patterns do.

For the double crochet stitch, you:
- Yarn Over
- Insert your hook into the stitch
- Yarn over and pull the yarn through the stitch you inserted your hook into
You should have three loops on your hook - Yarn over and pull the yarn through the first two loops on your hook
You should have two loops on your hook - Yarn over and pull the yarn through the last two loop son your hook
